Volunteer Opportunities

Without volunteers, Jamestown Public Library would not be what it is today and

would not be able to continue to offer services to the community.

Volunteering

We have several volunteer opportunities on a regular basis and special events throughout the year. Some of these include:

  • Shelving & organization

  • Maintaining the book sale rooms & donations

  • Working the circulation desk

  • Summer reading program

  • Fundraiser and special events

  • Summer reading programs for children

  • Cleaning and dusting

  • Requesting donations from businesses

  • Friends of the Library newsletters

  • Other miscellaneous administrative tasks

Volunteering Guidelines

  • Applications are processed in the order they are received.

  • Some training may be required.

  • Volunteers must be 16+ and those under the age of 18 must provide an adult emergency contact.

  • Available volunteer hours and scheduling may be limited due to library programs, staffing, and number of volunteer applicants received.

  • Volunteer tasks vary. When possible, volunteers will be assigned their preferred task.

To Apply

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at our library!

  • Please fill out a volunteer application (at the top of this page or at the front desk of the library) and return to library staff at the library in person.

  • The Library Manager will review your application and contact you as soon as possible to discuss availability and possible tasks.
