Support Us
The Jamestown Public Library is a small community library that is almost completely supported by grants, donations, and other community support. There are many ways to help support our library, which helps us serve the Jamestown and surrounding community!
Donate
We accept several different types of donations. Here are the main types of donations we receive. Please contact us for specific donation questions.
Monetary Donations
Any monetary donation can be made to us by mail or in person. Checks should be made out to: Jamestown Public Library. We are able to provide receipts for tax purposes.
In Honor Of / In Memory Of
Monetary and other types of donations/gifts can be named in honor or in memory of someone. Upon request, a donation acknowledgement letter will be sent to the requested individual/family. Below is a link for the Donation/Gift form.
Book Donations
We accept book donations that are then either added into our existing collection or sold to purchase other materials.
We DO NOT accept the following materials:

Textbooks
-
Encyclopedias
-
Any materials that are dirty, damaged, moldy, or stained
Basket Item Donations
To continue our ongoing gift basket fundraiser sales by the Friends of the Library group, we are in constant need of new or gently used items. Please contact us for more details!

Amazon Smile
Do you shop using Amazon.com? If you purchase your same items using Amazon Smile, Amazon donates 0.5% of your purchases to our non-profit organization.

Other Donating Opportunties:
Throughout the year, we have several events that provide extra opportunties for patrons to purchase items with proceeds going to the library directly, or the Friends of the Library group. Some examples are:

Volunteer
Without volunteers, Jamestown Public Library would not be what it is today and would not be able to continue to offer services to the community.

Friends of the Library Group
The Friends of the Library group is run by volunteers. If you would like to become more involved in the library please join our Friends of the Library Group.
Donation & Gift Policies
We encourage gifts of books and other materials which will be useful to the library. Here are some important things to consider before making your donation:

All gifts are considered permanent and cannot be returned.

No materials will be added that do not meet the normal selection procedures and collection development policies.

The library reserves the right to dispose of a gift of library material (without notifying the donor) in whatever manner the library deems best.

The library cannot appraise any item for tax purposes, but will acknowledge gifts with a "Gift Policy and Recipt" form.

Donors are required to furnish a count of donated items for receipt purposes.

The library reserves the right to integrate gifts with other library materials.
